We were eating breakfast at Denny’s recently. It was a pit-stop on our way to the airshow in Oshkosh, a break from the drive and a chance to catch a meal.
I was watching the waitresses working there. A bunch of them were just coming in to start their shift. It got me thinking about how much I hate having to go in to a job every morning.
It doesn’t matter what the job is, having to get up and be at work at a certain time to work for someone else just isn’t my thing! And the thought of ever having to do that again fills me with despair and loathing.
Not that a job is a bad thing, by any means. I’m not knocking jobs. It’s just not my thing.
As I sat there thinking about it, I had an aha! moment. I realized that the truth is, I don’t ever have to work a “normal” job ever again. Not if I really don’t want to.
You see, I absolutely know that I can be successful with my own business, with doing what I love. I can do anything I want and build the life that I really want.
I can make it happen.
I have the tools and the resources to help me out. I am surrounded by fabulous people who are supportive and inspiring. If I don’t know how to do something, I can damn well figure it out.
I can make it happen.
And that realization made me feel powerful and in control of my life.
Because it doesn’t matter what happens, or what life throws at me. It doesn’t matter what comes along, or what is lost along the way. The truth is, this is my life to do with as I please. To live as I wish. To build as I desire.
And I can make it happen.
I can build my business to be successful beyond my wildest dreams. I can make good money to support the lifestyle I want, to keep me financially secure. I can work my own hours and make money doing what I absolutely love and am passionate about.
And I don’t ever have to work a “normal” job again, if I don’t want to!
The choice is mine, the power is in my hands.
It’s now up to me to do something with it.
Is there an area in your life where you need to take back your power and realize that you can make it happen? I’d love to hear about it in the comments below.

You’re right in a lot of ways, but everyone has to start from somewhere.
Glad to see that you are there, though. Keep it up, gurl! Love it!

Hi Jess, i’m with you on that!!
As you know i’ve got some health issues at the moment, which are holding me back. But fingers crossed in a few weeks i should be able to (I better be able to) put them behind me and crack on with my work, and make it happen for myself.
Take care my friend, and keep smiling.
