I can completely relate to what she’s talking about here, and often find myself wasting time in this very way. Laree’s tips can help all of us to break that cycle and get more done.}
You set your alarm and get up about the same time the cat is finally going to sleep.
You’re excited and pumped!
Ready to get to work on that project, blog post, screenplay, or whatever it is.
You open up a nice clean word document.
It’s so exciting, so full of possibility.
You punch in a cute little headline, maybe a sentence or two.
Sigh…take a sip of coffee and gaze at that cute little headline and decide…
It sucks…all within 5 minutes of your awakening.
There’s still hope, all is not lost yet.
You click on your Google browser with the intention of “researching” a few things before you begin again.
The computer is kind of slow, so you pop open Facebook and Twitter, you’ll quicklycheck the one that loads first.
Everyone knows Facebook and Twitter load faster than Google. At least that’s how it works on your computer … right?
YES, Facebook has loaded and so has Twitter, Google can wait it isn’t going anywhere!
Oh look…Sally posted a new blog for the second time this week…interesting. It’s on the exact same topic you’re writing and researching about this morning!
You click on it…Read it…You are in complete awe of Sally and the 50 comments she has already.
Then you notice a slight twinge of …possible…jealousy?
You go back to your Google “research” window, gulp instead of sip your coffee.
And set your fingers on the keyboard, combat style.
No one is ever going to call you a copy cat or a Sally wanna be…no sir and no way!
Hey…you might as well check Twitter first, you may be awhile researching something Sally hasn’t already written about on that precious blog of 10,000 subscribers.
Isn’t it amazing, all the interesting articles and projects that your Twitter peeps areaccomplishing, you’re really happy for them aren’t you?
You’re so happy and impressed by all your Tweet Peeps that you start re-tweeting. Looking at their website, and reading other spectacular content on their blogs.
You’re a great multi-tasker and so out of the corner of one eye you secretly admire all the awesome gizmos and gadgets on their websites.
But it was worth it because you’re so inspired by Tweet Peeps now…right?
You’re finally ready to get to work on your own project this morning.
Shit…it’s noon already?
Your coffee is long gone, you best make a fresh pot before opening up that Google “research” window you accidently closed a long time ago.
You sit back down with your fresh cup of coffee.
It’s a great cup of coffee… you must tweet about it! Let everyone know just how yummy it is!
Suddenly the yummy cup of coffee turns into the greatest conversation starter ever.
Your Twitter stream is cooking now, the coffee is a hit…so much that you decide it’stime to post the news on your FB status, while you’re still feeling it…
“This is one yummy cup of coffee! It’s the little things in life that matter.”
Now everyone knows you’re awake.
You must be available because you just posted about drinking yummy coffee and little things that matter.
You see a new set of red message notifications on your FB page … just before you were able to click back to the Google “research” window.
Whew! You almost missed them.
Now you’re hungry, really hungry. The yummy coffee, looking at Sally’s perfect post on your topic, the excitement of all your Tweet Peeps projects, re-tweets and reading in cyberspace have left you a little anxious, resistant and on the edge of self loathing .
Sound familiar…maybe a little too much?
Here’s a simple solution…
Commit to the vision you were so damn excited about getting up for in the first place.
Save your “research” & “fact-finding” for the final part of your creative session.
Do a complete brain dump of what’s already in your head and doesn’t require a trip to cyber land.
If you don’t know the name of a city or the watcha ma call it- simply give it a temporary name and keep going.
If you’re really disciplined-go ahead and set a timer for 30 minutes before you start your project and Google to your heart’s delight.

Your website can be an amazing, powerful tool for marketing your business and attracting your ideal clients. It needs to be set up properly, though, and if you aren’t sure what you’re doing it can be easy to make mistakes that cost you money, time and energy.
Imagine for a moment that you were irresistible. Close your eyes and picture what that would look like. How would you act? How would you look? How would other people respond to you, and how would you respond to them?
One of the most important steps to actually making money with your website is to build an email list. You can get all the traffic to your website that you want, but most of them will click away and never come back. You need some way to be able to follow up with them and give them a chance to get to know, like and trust you.
In fact, your website should be making you cold, hard CASH. It should be like your virtual cash register, bringing in sales and money for your business.
